– My name is Dotty Caldwell. I have been the school guidance counselor at Dr.
Nixon for 18 years. Dr. Nixon is a
wonderful school with a rich multicultural population. We are also proud to
welcome our many Military families to our wonderful community. I am available
to assist teachers, parents, and students with concerns that may affect the
academic performance of the child. Issues may include a child affected by
divorce, deployment and social interactions. Please feel free to stop by and
see me if you have questions or concerns. I begin the school year by
identifying at-risk and homeless students so that we may get them into proper
interventions/services. Operation School Bell provides needy students in grades
1-5 with new clothes and shoes. Toys for Tots provide needy families with
Christmas toys and gifts.
- Dr. Nixon offers the school-wide
enrichment program. Kinder and First
grade are serviced by a 45 minute daily program. Second through Fifth
grades are serviced by a half day or full day program.
We have many events/initiatives that educate our students
and parents. Throughout the year we focus on anti-bullying, following the
conflict resolution 4 step plan, staying safe, making good decisions, character
development, college and career development, and transition activities for our
5th grade students getting ready for middle school.
