Earth Day Campus Clean-Up

04.18.12 ~ Dr. Nixon Elementary PTA and Kohl’s will be sponsoring an Earth Day celebration campus clean-up on Saturday, April 21st from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. All Dr. Nixon families are welcome to take part. RIF Rockets to be Launched May 1, 2012

04.16.12 ~ As a motivator for Reading is Fundamental (RIF), third and fourth grade students are invited to create a reading-themed rocket to be launched into the skies over Dr. Nixon. Personnel from Raytheon will launch the rockets on May 1, 2012. Fourth graders will launch at 8:15 and third graders at 9:00. Rockets must be made from cardboard paper towel tubes or any other tubes with the same diameter. The overall width of the rocket cannot exceed five inches. STAAR Tests

04.13.12 ~ Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade students will be taking STAAR tests April 24-26. Third and Fourth grade students will be taking the math portion of the test on Tuesday, April 24th and the reading portion on Wednesday, April 25th. 20th Anniversary

01.06.12 ~ Dr. Nixon Elementary will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary with an Enchilada Dinner on Thursday, January 19th at 5:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. We will have entertainment, delicious food, and special guests. Tickets for the enchilada dinner will be sold in the front office for $5.00.
